Atlantic City (by The Hold Steady) / Atlantic City (PARLOPHONE 50999 693994 7 3)
Issued exclusively as part of a UK-only box set (PARLOPHONE 50999 244075 7 1) containing 15 vinyl singles, released in conjunction with the “War Child - Heroes: The Ultimate Covers Album” Various Artists benefit compilation and limited to 5,000 copies, this 45 marked the first 7-inch appearance of a Springsteen recording in almost eight years. As all other records included in this box, the disc features picture labels and comes in a plain white die-cut sleeve.

       


What Love Can Do / A Night With The Jersey Devil (COL 38-749532 [88697 49532 7])
Issued to commemorate the 2009 “Record Store Day” (an annual campaign supporting independent record dealers), limited to 2,500 copies. Packaging consists of a unique glossy 6-inch square black-and-white Bruce photo slipped inside a die-cut, sticker-sealed brown cardboard outer sleeve along with the record, which carries black/silver Columbia labels. This 45 (pressed solely in the US, but also distributed in Europe) marked Columbia’s first commercially available Springsteen release on the 7-inch vinyl format in almost 13 years, as well as the first “physical” appearance of the non-album track “A Night With The Jersey Devil” in audio-only form.

Limited US-only release for exclusive distribution on “Black Friday”, a “Record Store Day”-type event in support of independent music dealers held on November 26, 2010. Unique black-and-white cardboard picture sleeve.

Rocky Ground / The Promise (live) (COL 88691 96704 7)
Another exclusive and limited “Record Store Day” release, with copies pressed in both the US and Europe. Unique black-and-white picture sleeve. The live B-side (recorded at Asbury Park’s Carousel House on December 7, 2010) is unique to this 45 in audio-only form.

              

Rocky Ground (SONY MUSIC/AUSTROMECHANA; no catalogue number)
Limited promotion-only release pressed specifically for exclusive distribution with the May 2012 issue of German “Rolling Stone” magazine, which was sold as a “Bruce Springsteen Package” that also included a 52-page supplement dedicated entirely to Bruce. Apart from featuring totally different picture sleeve artwork to the above “Record Store Day” single of “Rocky Ground”, this disc is one-sided and has Springsteen’s “autograph” engraved into the B-side vinyl.
