Tunnel Of Love / Brilliant Disguise (CBS/SONY 10EP 3001)
Japan-only release in this form; marks the only worldwide apparance of "Brilliant Disguise" on an official CD single. Disc is housed in a slim, 6-inch x 3-inch cardboard longpack which can be folded into a mini gatefold case (a packaging method also known as “snap-pack”; used for numerous Japanese CD singles to follow) featuring a small reproduction of the original 7-inch picture sleeve and title graphics in both English and Japanese.

One Step Up / Roulette (COL 38K 7726)
Extremely rare US-only promotional single handed out at a Columbia convention, and possibly sent to media personalities as well. Issued in a plastic sleeve with "Compliments of CBS Records" imprint in white type on a blue border.

Born In The U.S.A. / Shut Out The Light (COL 38K 04680)
US-only "Hall Of Fame" release; marked the first worldwide appearance of "Shut Out The Light" on the format and also remains the only commercial CD single to date including the "Born In The U.S.A." studio version. Originally issued in a slim 12-inch x 3-inch die-cut cardboard longpack, while some copies in circulation come in a clear 3-inch PVC bag only.

US-only "Hall Of Fame" single; same overall packaging as the above “Born In The U.S.A.” 3-inch.

Tougher Than The Rest plus tracks by Eighth Wonder, Michael Jackson, Midnight Oil, Paula Nichols and Sade (CBS PROC 1238)
Very collectable, Austria-only “CBS - The Sound Of Summer '88” Various Artists promotional EP sent to selected record stores; obviously pressed in very limited quantities. Issued in a basic white cardboard sleeve with grey title graphics that also included a 5-inch plastic adapter. No tracklisting on disc.

Tougher Than The Rest / Roulette / Be True (live) / Born To Run (live acoustic) (CBS 651641 3)
Rear of cardboard sleeve for the withdrawn original Dutch issue featured an incorrect track line-up; listing "Tougher Than The Rest", "Roulette", "Tougher Than The Rest" (live) and "Be True" (live). The error eventually was disguised with a blue overlay sticker (which can't be removed without damaging the cover), later followed by an entirely new sleeve. Either variant came with 5-inch plastic adapter.

Japanese "Tunnel Of Love Express I" EP in "snap-pack" featuring a small reproduction of the standard European "Tougher Than The Rest" CD sleeve and tracklisting on front; rear lists the complete 1988 tour schedule. Originally came shrinkwrapped with a sticker reading, "Welcome Back To Japan - Bruce Returns", while some copies in circulation carry a "Rental CD" sticker instead. Contains a fold-out sheet with lyrics in English. Not to be confused with the US "Tunnel Of Love Express Tour" 5-inch promotional CD's.

Rare Austria-only “Chimes Of Freedom” EP (omitting one track from the appropriate vinyl version) with nice miniature gatefold colour picture sleeve featuring same cover design as the 12-inch and "Tunnel Of Love" CD photo inside. Originally came sealed in a clear “CD3” logo blister pack.

Tougher Than The Rest / Be True / Chimes Of Freedom / Born To Run (acoustic) (all live) (COL 44K 44445)
US “Live” EP. Issued in a black 12-inch x 3-inch die-cut longpack with red/grey Columbia logos printed all over and title sticker on front. The fact that it includes edited versions of both "Tougher Than The Rest" and "Chimes Of Freedom" made this CD a highly controversial and much-criticised release.

US-only release in Columbia's "Hall Of Fame" series; again issued in a slim 12-inch x 3-inch cardboard pack that features a multi-coloured illustration of a jukebox on green background.
