A recently published, 100-page all-Springsteen special issue of French music magazine “Les Inrockuptibles” comes with an exclusive 2-track bonus CD containing “Because The Night” and “Save My Love”, housed in a black-and-white cardboard picture sleeve. Thanks to Frederic Clair for the info and sleeve scan.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (11/11/10)
It appears that the European release of the 3-LP vinyl issue of “The Promise” has been postponed, as customers pre-ordering copies from HMV and Amazon in both the UK and Germany have recently received e-mail notifications informing them that the item won’t be available before
mid-December (12/16 to 12/21). Its original 11/16 US street date, however, seems to remain unchanged.

WEBMASTERS’ NOTE (11/10/10)
“Darkness” is approaching…and some of the best “spoilers” can be found here.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (10/25/10)
11/26
will see the US-only release of “Save My Love” (backed with “Because The Night”) as an exclusive, limited-edition 7-inch vinyl single to commemorate “Black Friday”, a “Record Store Day”-type campaign supporting independent music dealers.

WEBMASTERS’ NOTE (10/15/10)
Steve Matoren
, director of a new documentary about Bruce Springsteen fandom entitled “Is There Anybody Alive Out There?!”, is looking for serious Springsteen collectors in the US to present their collections on camera. Check out his website here and drop him a line if you are interested in participating in the project.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (10/13/10)
The first promo item related to “The Promise”, a 1-track CDR single of “Save My Love” from the UK, has recently surfaced on eBay. Thanks to our Australian mate Mark Bahlen for having its authenticity confirmed via a contact directly at Sony’s London offices.

In other news, the 7-CD “The Collection 1973-84” package now is also scheduled for release in England on 11/29, featuring different box graphics.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (09/24/10)
The new Ray Davies album of collaborations with other artists, "See My Friends" (due 11/01 from Universal), will feature Bruce on a duet version of the 1981 Kinks song “Better Things”.

SPECIAL WEBMASTERS’ NOTE (09/17/10)
Courtesy of a very generous gentleman from the US who wishes to remain anonymous (let’s just call him “He Who Must Not Be Named”), we are proud to present to you a previously undocumented Springsteen item that can easily be placed in the “Holy Grail” category (and even that would probably be an understatement): A 3-track Columbia “in-house” promo CDR EP that contains Bruce’s original version of his 2001 composition “I’ll Stand By You Always”; a ballad he originally wrote for his youngest son Sam Ryan and later donated to the soundtrack of the first “Harry Potter” film, “Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone” (hence the title “Song For Harry Potter”), although it ultimately wasn’t used for that movie (read more details here). To this day, the song remains unreleased and uncirculated in any form, except for this ultra-mega-super-rare disc, of which probably no more than 5 copies - distributed exclusively to top Columbia executives - were ever made (the two additional tracks are the same live recordings that appeared on the bonus CD single included with the “Live In New York City” DVD in 2001). Our VERY SPECIAL thanks go out to the source who provided us with the scan and background info, thus enabling
Lost In The Flood to share this unbelievable gem with all of you.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (08/26/10)
The eagerly-anticipated “Darkness On The Edge Of Town” box set is finally scheduled for release on
11/16, and it’s going to be monstrous. In addition to a (long overdue) digitally remastered version of the album, “The Promise: The ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ Story” also contains two audio discs of outtakes from the 1977/78 sessions (which will be available as separate 2-CD/3-LP sets as well), plus three DVD’s or BluRays, including - amongst other rare footage - the complete December 8, 1978 concert at The Summit in Houston, Texas. What can we say, except HOLY COW?? Click on the pic below for all the details at Springsteen’s official website.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (03/19/10)
brucespringsteen.net now officially confirms both tracks on the forthcoming “Wrecking Ball” 10-inch vinyl single to be the previously released download-only live recordings from 2009 and 2008, respectively (i. e., “The Ghost Of Tom Joad” appearing in the full-band version from the 2008 Anaheim, California show, which featured Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello on guitar and was originally available as part of the “Magic Tour Highlights” digital EP) . Cover artwork will be identical to the “Wrecking Ball” iTunes single, and should look even more awesome on an actual, physical picture sleeve.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (03/12/10)
Another exclusive Springsteen vinyl release will be issued to commemorate this year’s “Record Store Day” on 04/17, in the form of a 10-inch single containing what presumably are live versions of “Wrecking Ball” (previously available as a "digital single" only) and “The Ghost Of Tom Joad”. No artwork or other details are known as of yet, apart from the recommended retail price of $ 6.98 per copy.

SPECIAL WEBMASTERS’ NOTE (01/23/10)
Bruce’s awesome acoustic rendition of “We Shall Overcome” performed during last night’s “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon supporting victims of the recent, disastrous Haiti earthquake will be made internationally available as an official iTunes download within the next few days (presumably from 01/25). The track can be purchased both individually and as part of a full digital album featuring all music artists who participated in the event, with proceeds going to seven different relief organizations.
