COLLECTORS’ NEWS (12/16/12)
A 2-CD compilation of 24 "standout performances" from the recent, star-studded "12 12 12" Madison Square Garden benefit concert supporting victims of Hurricane Sandy will be released by Columbia/Sony on 01/18/13. No official tracklisting is available yet, but since an iTunes pre-order offer for the album gets mentioned on Springsteen's official website, it's safe to say that Bruce and the E Street Band (whose 4-song set opened the event, with Bruce also joining Bon Jovi later on) are to be featured.

[ UPDATE 12/19/12: According to iTunes, the Springsteen live tracks included on this compilation are "Land Of Hope And Dreams" and "Wrecking Ball". ]

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (05/08/12)
Bruce Springsteen is one of several guest artists to be featured on Jimmy Fallon’s upcoming comedy album, “Blow Your Pants Off”, released by Warner Bros. on 06/12. In addition to original songs, the CD will also include bits from Fallon’s TV show, “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”, where Bruce has appeared in both November 2010 and March 2012 (each time as a younger version of himself, joining Jimmy's hilarious Neil Young impersonations for cover versions of Willow Smith's “Whip My Hair” and LMFAO’s “Sexy And I Know It”, respectively). No detailed tracklisting is available yet; however, the album's highly appealing artwork (see below) has recently been revealed.

[ UPDATE 05/12/12: As confirmed by Backstreets.com, the CD is going to contain their rendition of “Whip My Hair”. ]

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (03/29/12)
Thanks to Steven-Elvis Remus from the “German Tramps” website for notifying us on a special "Bruce Springsteen Package" that is going to be available with the May 2012 issue of German "Rolling Stone" magazine (hitting newsstands on 04/26). In addition to featuring Bruce on the cover of the regular mag, this issue will also include a special 52-page supplement dedicated entirely to him, plus - most importantly - an exclusive, one-sided 7-inch vinyl single of "Rocky Ground" (with different sleeve artwork to the forthcoming "Record Store Day" release) that has Springsteen’s “autograph” engraved into the B-side vinyl. For more info and pre-order details, click here.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (03/03/12)
This year’s “Record Store Day” (04/21) will bring another exclusive Springsteen 7-inch vinyl release, coupling “Rocky Ground” from the new album with a live version of “The Promise” recorded at the Carousel House in Asbury Park in December 2010.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (01/28/12)
Backstreets.com reports that the 2-LP vinyl version of “Wrecking Ball” will include a free CD copy of the full-length (11-track standard edition) album.

In related news, two different 1-track promo CDR’s for “We Take Care Of Our Own” from both the UK and the US have recently surfaced on eBay; with either release utilizing the poorly photoshopped black-and-white artwork of Bruce looking like a bobblehead figure (as seen in our last News entry). The UK issue comes inside a stickered clear plastic sleeve containing a folded and perforated picture inlay, while the US pressing is housed in a standard slimline jewel case featuring a regular picture insert that lists the song’s full recording credits on rear (shown below). As per usual, beware of fakes. Thanks to Jeremy Parkinson for the scan, and to “Mretrain” for providing info on the UK version over at Greasy Lake.

COLLECTORS’ NEWS (01/20/12)
Bruce Springsteen’s new studio album “Wrecking Ball” will be released on 03/06 in three different configurations (standard CD, “special edition” CD [featuring two bonus tracks and exclusive packaging], and double vinyl). Its first “single”, “We Take Care Of Our Own”, is now available as a download from both Amazon and iTunes, and can also be streamed online at the official Springsteen YouTube channel.
